Ruby Ramblings

Us Americans here just got a call from the American embassy. They let us know they are keeping tabs on us and are concerned about our situation.  They also that after we are out and all safe and sound, that they are going to commence a massive country wide campaign to educate about how viruses are spread and not to fear every foriegner that crosses your path. So that’s that.

I figured I might as well keep up with some of my regular blogging activities, since I have the time, and the inclination.

In a quarantine facility somewhere between Incheon and Seoul, South Korea. How often am I going to get to say that?! (Well hopefully not too much more often.)

Why are they waiting? Seriously? Get on it NOW.

But I suspect that your average Korean will not listen if the info is coming from an American government source–this really should be coming from the Korean government . . . oops, I just used “should” and “government” in the same sentence–add “Korean” and you can call me babo! (“stupid”)

I feel better knowing the Embassy is keeping an eye on things. Okay, that’s interesting if that’s all it really is, hypochondria and desire to control. I can understand that. It will be interesting to hear how things go from here on. I know that Asians supposedly have fewer sweat glands than Caucasians, so we naturally smell worse than they do? Have you heard that? So, no wonder they dread us! They aren’t used to stinky people!

Oh it seems there might be something for Hollywood (since your embassy decided to be involved). Not sure whether that’s a good or bad thing :erm:

Too bad you’re not teaching few hundred miles on the north! You’d earn at least a national pension! (not to mention movies, books, Security Council, Amnesty International, why not Greenpeace? And gosh, of course omnipresent Christiane Amanpour!)

What a headache… I’ve been following your swine-flu drama in my feed and it boggles the mind.
